Montana Adventure!

My older sister lives in Kalispell, MT.
We don't get to see her nearly as often as we would like - so we took a little  jaunt up to see her and her husband.  The entire Transtrum clan went up, and we made a little reunion out of it.
We were even able to get family pictures done up there, and I will post those as soon as they are available.

Montana is beautiful and absolutely perfect in the summer.
Kalispell is a mere 30 minutes from Glacier National Park so we took a day drive up there to take in it's beauty and glory.  Absolutely stunning!

But first thing's first...

The kids were in heaven at Aunt Rachelle's house:
between hunting for fresh eggs, feeding the dogs, going on nature walks, and having s'mores in the evening - the kids just couldn't get enough.

Paisley loved the fresh eggs from the chicken.
She tripped and broke this egg - and was quite concerned about it the whole trip.

Uncle Ben.

Cruz lived to feed the three dogs.
The four of them instantly became best friends.

The kids had a good old time at the water table in Rachelle's yard.
Most of the fun came from throwing sand/water on the chickens that were running around.

We went to the Farmer's Market in Kalispell Saturday morning, and Paisley found a little wooden chair just her size:

We went down to the Flathead River on Sunday to see uncle Ben and Hutch jump off the bridge.  The kids were instantly obsessed with throwing rocks in the water.

Daddy gave Paisley a good talk about "currents."
She took it all in.

Ben gracefully back flipping into the Falthead river.

 This girl....
She is growing up too fast!

Aunt Rachelle is awesome with kids -
both Paisley and Cruz just couldn't get enough of her.

Mmmmm, s'mores :)

We did a little Nature hike by Rachelle's house one evening...
such beautiful country.

Ben cut down some limbs from trees in their backyard.
Nick climbed up this one:

Glacier National Park ---

See the line in the middle of the mountain...that's the road.
It's a pretty intense drive - but totally worth the view!

More fun at Rachelle's house:

We had so much fun that the kid's schedules got thrown by the wayside.
Cruz got so tuckered out one night he fell asleep in my arms before I could put him in bed.

On the way home we stopped in Missoula for a couple hours to visit some friends that recently moved there from Spain.  So fun to see them!

The 1500 miles and 20 hours of driving was totally worth the time spent with family.
The kids totally rocked the long driving.
Of course they kept themselves entertained with movies, snacks,  and random visits from the "travel fairy."
Oh, and Cruz pulled a few tricks on his sister....like "feeding her baby"

Don't worry - it's just a tootsie roll :)

Anything to help the time pass by ;)
(Note, I don't really pick my nose - this was for the comedic effect)
