Top of the World - Tibidabo

"I'm on the top of the world, looking down on creation...."

This awesome song by the Carpenters was spinning through my head all day after visiting Tibidabo this weekend.
Tibidabo is a tall mountain that overlooks Barcelona and the Mediterranean.
From the top, you have nearly limitless views in almost every direction.
No wonder we all felt like we were truly on top of the world.

We took the train to Barcelona and then a bus to the foot of the mountain.
From there we caught this awesome Funicular to the very tippy top.

Stepping off the funicular, you take a few steps and then you have this...

Notice Sagrada Familia? Looks like they're still working on it.... :)

Tibidabo literally means, "To thee I will give thee" and refers to the time in The New Testament when Satan tempted Jesus and told him he would give Him everything if he would kneel down and worship him. Apparently, some believe that Tibidabo in Barcelona is the exact spot where this took place. And Satan was offering Jesus all of this...

If the views aren't enough to keep you fascinated at Tibidabo,
you could also check out the Sacred Heart Cathedral.

Even more, Tibidabo offers Barcelona's oldest amusement park.  Because apparently, the top of the mountain still isn't high enough...

Paisley is really into playing games this day.
She was having loads of fun playing hide and seek on top of the Cathedral.

She sure is a fun(ny) little girl.

It was a gorgeous day. We sure enjoyed our little family time together.
And even more - we indulged in some patata fritas together.
What more could a girl ask for?
