Cataract Canyon

This last weekend Mama and Papa Bahr took us on an adventure with them down Cataract Canyon! We left Logan Friday and arrived in Moab that evening. Saturday morning we met with our crew and took a 2 hour jet boat ride down the Colorado River. There we met up with our raft and guide. The next few hours we spent hanging on for dear life as we went over some pretty extreme rapids such as Big Drop 1,2, and 3. Satan's Gut and The Claw. The rapids were nothing compared to the cold. Only halfway through did we discover wet suits which probably saved our lives. Apparently this was the coldest June in Moab since 1890. After the rapids it was another 3 hour ride to the end of the river at Lake Powell. At Lake Powell we were flown back to Moab on a 6 passenger plane. It was an amazing view! Overall it was such a fun and adventurous trip. Thanks so much Kim and Damon for inviting us!!

Nick and I on the jet boat...at this point none of us knew what lay ahead.

Dad and Mom Bahr during the lunch Break...talk about true adventurers.

This was our guide Nielsen...also our personal chef. He busted out a mean
ceasar chicken wrap right there on the side of the river.
This is the plane we flew back to Moab. It probably made our
stomachs churn more than the rapids. We had a really good view going back over
Colorado River and Canyonlands National Park though.

Awesome trip, Awesome Parents, Awesome Life!

Wow! What an amazing adventure! You guys are pretty daring! To do all of that AND do it in the cold? Impressive! I still can't believe Mama Bahr did that! Maybe she really does have guts of steel!
