This past weekend we were fortunate to have visitors!
Jake and Jaclyn came from Germany (Jake is in the army), and they brought their cute kiddos Abby and Noah.
We had a fun enough time showing them a few sights, but really the best part was watching the kids go crazy for each other.
We were reminded of the good 'ol days when the four of us lived in Logan and had lots of fun times together!
They flew to Spain on Friday. Nick picked them up from the airport and took them to Tossa De Mar.
When they got to our piso we had dinner together and even had some cake for Jaclyn's birthday which was earlier that week:
(yes PJ is picking her nose. she has reached that wonderfully disgusting stage of life.)
The next day all of us headed to Barcelona where we checked out the Sagrada Familia, good 'ol Barceloneta, took the cablecar over the Harbor (which I have really been wanting to do for some time now), and the to top it all off we walked the Rambla back to the train station.
It was a long day, but was loads of fun!
(can you spot the Gadd/Bahr crew? )
The kids pretty much went crazy at the beach! Well to be honest, we all did. Who doesn't love a good beach day? Especially when it's so hot out?
We even spotted some jellyfish! yikes!
oh, and Abby may or may not have gotten buried:
After the beach we took the cablecar from the beach to Montjuic (a mountain overlooking the harbor). We enjoyed the most amazing views of Barcelona!
These girls loved each other!
From the cablecar you could see all that Barcelona had to offer!
Including the above picture which is a great shot of the Christopher Columbus monument and the Rambla (lined with the green trees!).
Oh how I love this city!!
And here you can see how the cable car goes over the harbor.
We walked back up the Rambla to the station. We stopped for some ice cream/slushy drinks on the way and it made for the most perfect ending to a most excellent day!
The next day was Sunday.
We had plans to go to Parc Guell after church - but I think we were all a bit exhausted from the day before.
Instead, a few people took naps, we all relaxed and chilled, and then we went to our beloved Parc Catalunya to feed the ducks and play at the playground.
It was seriously such an awesome weekend with great friends!
Paisley is still asking about Abby and Noah and when they're coming back.
Hopefully it wont' be too long before we get in some more Gadd family fun (wether it be here in Spain, Germany, or the good old Estados Unidos!)
